Our Journey

2016
Magrock was officially founded
What began as an initial conversation between two brothers, Richard and David Brewer, soon took shape with the appointment of additional Directors Kylie Boarer and Dean Pask.

Together the small team, with big ambitions to ‘do things differently’ set the direction for what Magrock is today. The target was £25m turnover in five years, providing the ultimate client service.

First Magrock offices opened for 10 people in September.

Installation of Zaha Hadid’s serpentine pavilion re-erected at Chatsworth House as part of the Sotheby’s Beyond Limits exhibition. The open air pavilion with calligraphic arcs rose five and a half meters in the air.
2017
First contract over £1m awarded
Mezzanine floor installed in Clipper Logistics Northampton distribution centre. The 5,000 sqft project was completed in a live environment, without disturbance to the business.

This live fit out was for the first Pretty Little Thing distribution centre, aligning multiple businesses to distribute fast fashion wear.  The approach fostered with speed allowed them to dispatch goods quickly and efficiently. The facility would bring large volumes of new jobs to an area of Sheffield that required regeneration.

In the same year, Magrock established relationships with Goodman and the Devonshire Park Ltd.
2018
Our first major new build industrial scheme
First new build industrial scheme awarded by Tungsten Properties. Consisting of two single-storey warehouse units totalling 83,000 sqft. Early access was needed for unit 1 for occupier Pets Corner with a number of ecological issues overcome including the protection of existing protected trees, SUDS and development of wet balancing ponds.

The Iworx project for both Goodman UK and Bedford County council commenced. These units provided local start up businesses opportunity and incentive in the Bedford area, Magrock felt incredibly proud to be part of the BREEAM excellent scheme.
2019
£15m turnover with a team of 15 staff
The completion of I-Worx Bedford Commercial Park scheme, the first public sector funded project.

Dean Pask was promoted to Pre-Construction Director. Instrumental to our early growth and business development, the Directorship recognised Dean’s shared ambition and loyalty to the business.

The XPO for Go Outdoors fit-out involved an existing 255,252 sqft unit in Middlewich. Racking, mechanical and electrical services installed to store camping equipment in volumes. This ecommerce facility was refurbished to provide a quick early access date for the business.
2020
Our first £10m scheme
A total of 8 units across 164,000 sqft with a single detached unit of 50,000 sqft and a further 7 units in two terraces. All with 8m clear internal height, two level access loading doors and high specification first floor offices. Another project secured with Tungsten for Kenndey Wilson, this project would be built to a BREEAM excellent standard.

With COVID now becoming part of everyday life, Magrock had to find a new way to build and work together to ensure its projects could continue throughout the period.
